Memories Of Blood (Ties)

by CJ Maleney   Nov 29, 2017

The memories of your blood
can never be deleted.
They tie you to your past and future,
Though you often feel depleted.

What courses through your veins,
Perhaps keeps you alive,
But it's had a greater task to do!
Your legacy! now it thrives.

Yes you may have bled a little,
And for some it was a lot.
You pushed on through that barrier,
Your pain is not forgot.

From soul to soul,
Skin, !blood!, and flesh of flesh,
We are just like little trinkets,
Trying to outshine the rest!

You really shouldn't try to shine!
For your blood bonds they will grow.
They will love you for yourself,
For you exist in them and flow.

The blood bond that you share,
Unfortunate souls will never know.
It will never make you shiny,
But it can make sure you glow.

Thank you, the initial inspiration for this one came from the Underwood movies and it was meant to be something completely different and darker. As will often happen it kinda morphed along the way.
