Second thoughts

by Walter   Dec 5, 2017

What don't you understand
I've told you this before
I know what it is you want
But my heart can give no more

We were never meant to meet
We will never be the same
I've told you I'm not interested
But you've turned this into a game

I need to tell you to your face
So I'll invite you in just once
I'll will pick my words carefully
And make sure I'm being blunt

This is easier than I thought
You are listening with a smile
My words are no longer as tense anymore
Now that we've been talking for a while

You are not the person I thought
I'll admit I'm not always right
It's getting dark and late you know
I think you should stay the night

I really love this, I feel like I’ve been in this exact same situation one too many times with the same person. Great work.

Thanks very much Guilty by Design. I think we all can relate to this situation at least once in our lives. Cheers.

Walter, this to me is just brilliant! Really! I love the candid, single-minded determination that gives way to a softening with just a smile ... it tells such a story. I hope it gets nominated! :-) x
