For Tony

by Ren   Dec 6, 2017

You’ve been fighting a war-
…In every sense of the word...
You may have been silent,
But every thought I heard

No need to fear yourself-
…People change and people grow…
You may not be the same man you were,
But you have the same heart I know

Your life is like a thunderstorm-
…Unpredictable and full of pain…
But I promise I do not fear the thunder,
And never minded a little rain

So rain, sweet soldier-
…Let it out and let it pour…
I’ll take you with the thunder,
The lightning, and so much more

Take your time-
…Bind your wounds and just be…
There’s no need for attention,
Because I know you think of me

Just as I think of you-
…Sending positive vibes your way…
With bubbly thoughts and silly hugs,
To help get you through the day

Relax, sweet soldier-
…For I’m still standing here…
Through rain or shine,
I will always be near

You’re the soldier of my heart-
…and such an incredible friend…
Always being the strength I need,
We’re Lost Boys til’ the end

So meet me in the eye of the storm-
…In its calm we can stand…
And maybe if there’s time,
We can fly to Neverland
