Common Sense

by Tony   Dec 7, 2017

Please Imagine if you will
You're down to your last match
The cold and dark are pressing in
Your heat and sight they snatch

In this cold dark room
There is a heater, lamp, and candle
Which do you light first?
Which problem do you first handle?

Some say light the oil heater
It's the logical first choice
Warm yourself to gain more time
When you're found you can rejoice

Others say it's the lamp
That will surely guide them out
And all agree it's the candle
That they can do without

I tell them they're all wrong
For my riddle has a catch
Before you can ignite the others
You first must strike your match

Very interesting and honestly I don't know what I would do. I like to believe that I have common sense but when in a situation I may not know how to use it. Thank you for sharing. Add to my favorite. All the best

It's an old riddle I put to rhyme, you have to light the match before any of the other three.
