Snowman

by Mortal Utopia   Dec 9, 2017

Once,
I built you every winter
and saw you shine and glitter

for I wished you
could be my friend for all of eternity.

I would carefully wrap a scarf
around you,
for you were pale and cold to touch.

I never realised it was warmth
that melted you away…

This could be interpreted in more than one way in my opinion. It could be of that snowman you built every winter and probably is but it could also be a person you've nurtured and cared for and all they do is throw it back in your face and turn their back on you, very interesting
