Crossroads

I saw you from the corner of my eye
And noticed you looking at me
I am not sure why you seem so intrigued
By exactly what it is you see

I am certain I am not imagining this
As we have both been sitting here a while
And the times where our eyes would meet
I observed you even smile

Neither of us sure what to do just yet
As all this could be a coincidence
A lot is running around my mind right now
And none of it seems to make sense

Just as I work up my courage to greet you
I’m suddenly feeling keen
I noticed you getting up and leaving
And left me thinking what could have been

    such an intriguing piece, and yes what could have been. Its so strange to think of different paths in life, and what the outcomes could be. However we can only be on one, and only imagine the other.
    A nicely penned rhyming piece, which I enjoyed and receives my nomination.

      Thank you very much Michael. You're right, different path possibilities are endless if we analyse every turning point in life. Maybe it's just easier to believe in fate and say this is the path we were always destined for.

    When these situations occur all we need to do is "take the bull by the horns" and go for it otherwise we life with regret of what coulda, shoulda, woulda been.
