Still loving ghosts

by Rey Severs   Dec 13, 2017

Walking around, hollow empty,
All I feel is sorrow, nothing,
I lost someone and I'll never get to see them,
Knowing my arms will never wrap around again.

The cold of their body, the emptiness in their eyes,
I draw near, and try not to cry,
Life is so precious, yet time never promised,
No matter if a saint, a sinner, liar or honest.

Angels are taken, Demons as well,
Whether to heaven, an afterlife or hell,
We're all robbed of our unpromised time,
Whether we're evil, whether we're kind,
Loss is never easy, it hurts the most,
When the bed beside you, now holds a ghost.

I'll miss you, I love you, everything you were,
I'm sorry that all I can do is bury the hurt,
I'll smile for you, and promise to go on,
You are my tower, you keep me strong.

When I see you, I promise you'll be proud,
I'll be the one that stands out in the crowd,
It's just painful to not have you by my side,
I'm sorry that this pain, buries me alive.
