“I got you a Christmas present.
It’s small, but you’ll love it.”
You’d said,
Looking into my eyes with a huge
smile on your face as I resisted the urge to pull you in for a kiss.
“That’s okay, I prefer small presents anyways, they always have more meaning.”
I kissed your cheek delicately;
Appreciating every second of it,
And appreciating everything that is you.
“You always get me small gifts,”
You’d continued as I pulled you into a hug.
“I wanted to do the same for you.”
I leaned my head on your shoulder
Breathing in your scent;
Only able to stand there and smile because you’d once again
Just melted my heart.
