Darkness waits within my soul.
The bridge, now derelict
Had burned, so many moons ago,
When still the stars were lit.

Corners, hunted by the weak,
To turn, and hide away.
The thrill of searching, catching nothing
By the break of day.

Bricks laid bare, from etching names
Forever him 4 her.
Left to rot like hearts and flowers,
Grown of moss and fur.

Tree stumps, too, engraved again,
Forever her 4 him,
Left to rot like dreams and hopes,
Grown out of faith and whim.

Time is weary, in our age
Of memories gone by.
How I loved you. Love still dusty,
Caught within my eye.

And now, a new dawn lifts my head.
Yet sleep ever eluded
The nights befallen by my bed
With dreams that feel deluded.

If never was when I had woken.
Would you then kiss me?
I still wonder whether, like I you,
You may miss me?
