THE OTHER SIDE

by meg   Dec 23, 2017

Face beaming with a sparkly smile,
All part of the game of masquerade.
Seeming quite normal all the while,
The truth cemented with a spade.

Lips uttering the words-“I am fine”,
Whilst you are like a glass fully cracked.
But some twirl around like a vine,
Reminding all the things you lacked.

Drowning in a pool of mockery?
Look around for a piece of mirror.
You see it all very contrary,
Cause none others see through the smear.

Meg, first off, welcome to P&Q! A telling first poem. We can be totally alone in a crowd of people. No-onw really sees us or wants to. Well done-

    Very true

The world is a stage and we all masquerade.

    'Glass fully cracked'
    Is a very effective line.

    A very good read.
