Forever, not for ever

by C Cattaway   Dec 23, 2017

Darkness begs forgiveness, yet
This night will never end.
Didn't I do everything
Within my power, my friend?

Will we seek to heal ourselves,
When we don't even talk?
Did you not spare anything
For me, not just a thought?

Would you have walked out on me
If I had been so bold?
Would you still have lied to me,
If we could not grown old?

Didn't I speak honestly
About the dreams I had?
Would we have lived through it all
If you'd not felt so bad?

Did you know there's not a day
That I don't miss you heaps.
I thought we had for ever,
But for ever could not keep.
