Heart on your sleeve

by Brenda   Dec 24, 2017

You wear your heart on your sleeve,
for all the world to see,
you are much braver than me...
-
I hide my heart deep inside,
shielded by tears I have cried,
over relationship's that have died.
I'm not brave, I have tried...
-
I'm not brave like you,
willing to start something new,
even after a beau has been untrue.
What's a soul to do?
Does this mean nothing to you...?
-
So I will continue to hide away,
it's so much safer this way,
keep my heart out of this fray,
so I can face another day....

side note-my relationship is perfectly fine. This was just something bouncing about my head the last few days.

It's not that easy to face another day
    Strength is really important

Completely understandable. It's hard to go out there and let your heart live loud and proud when it's so easy to get knocked down, to get the spirit knocked out of us.

Good to hear all is well, Brenda, although I am aware that sometimes we take things too literally round here. If all my poetry was to be taken too seriously, I would have hung, drawn and quartered myself a hundred times by this point!
Well rhymed and well written throughout.

    All the best as ever,

    Ben

Thank you Ben, I had to giggle at your reply. We do take things sometimes too seriously. Take care-
