Vanish

by Walter   Dec 26, 2017

I often imagine you close
In my thoughts you are so clear
So real I can almost touch you
Your presence feels so near

I listen as your heart
Pounds right through my mind
I want to desperately turn to hold you
But I am forced to remind

None of this is real
Not in my dreams of you last night
The recurring visions I have of us
Vanish with the morning light

I was forced to let you go
I wish I could turn back time
I know nothing I say will bring you back
With these words that can only rhyme

I still whisper my thoughts to you
Even though we are apart
Because I know that you'll still hear me
Somewhere deep inside your heart

I don't want to say goodbye
Because then I'll have to let go
How can I live without you
When you are everything that I know

A very beautiful heart breaking piece. I can feel the yearning very much. Beautifully worded and nice rhythm.

A terribly sad write but one that is well rhymed and well written. I'm not sure whether that means much to you when the topic is so personal, but you have conveyed your emotions with real skill here.

Do take care and all the best,

    Ben

Thank you Ben for your comments. I actually wrote this a long time ago but it's strange how you never forget.

A heartfelt write nicely rhymed. People come into our lives, some stay, others do not. As much as we sometimes want them back, they are gone for a reason. Take care-

Thanks Brenda and yes, if you believe in fate, then everything happens for a reason.

So very true and living in the past is not living
