Nature

by Hope   Dec 28, 2017

Night;
what's another crime?
gone and lost;
lost and found.
what's your heartbeat sound?
sound of the cost,
cause the cost is always wrong,
in the end;
where do you belong?
break the end,
take the last song,
cause it's where I belong,
another heart mended,
but what do I comprehend?
cause the end will never stop turning,
cryptic soul, cryptic entries,
I want the eyes you seek;
cause I seek the black hole,
what's inside a heart of gold?
night,
love doesn't hide;
as it's all starless,
take in what's heartless,
cause you'll find the end; broken,
you're left out in the open,
scenic motion.

    A very thought-provoking piece. It made my soul feel naked, in the sense that I'm left questioning life's purpose and the vulnerability of love itself. I like how it is sort of cryptic as well, as if you meant the voice to be. My only critique is that I felt the punctuation was too heavily placed and took away the ability for the words to freely roam. But that is simply my opinion. I didn't feel the punctuation to be necessary and it felt forced (especially the semicolons).
