In Loving Memory

by Maple Tree   Jan 1, 2018

I'm not going to love this year
for my bony eyes have wept,
leaving my spine to wither
under a full, blood moon.

This heart refuses to cave
when you whisper upon
deaf ears, I'm nothing
without you, but hollow
in your presence.

Wait for me, my love
as the rivers flow crystal
and shadows frighten; not
I'll be ageless for you.....

for now, let me sleep upon this nightmare true.
