There is no Shortage of Beauty

by ddavidd   Jan 3, 2018

We photograph a flower
paint it, versify it, turn it to a piece of art,
to a poetry
to symphonies.
We learn about it.
We learn from it.
We sing it, and serenade it
and live by it, by its beauty,
its paints, its scents and its splendor!
We dry it for the winters,
for the winters we draw it in our books, in our hearts,
in our soul, in the winter flower houses of our remembrances.

This
is how contagious the disease of flowers are!
There is enough beauty stored in one stem of rose
to take over
and conquer
the entire world!

A thought provoking piece that takes beauty of a flower and the many aspects of life that simple beauty touches. Then in the last stanza takes a more bleak view and compares that beauty as being a disease able to conquer the world. It made me think about beauty in a different way than I would normally do. It brings much joy and inspires such creativity but its beauty can also have a dark side. Something that is worth contemplating. Best wishes Milly
