When your body is tired but your brain won't shut down your thoughts be racing and you become overwhelmed with worry. I suffer from insomnia and even the meds have not worked. I am tired of being tired. Thank you for sharing and all the best to you

    Miss Kitty,

Resting ours constant and busy minds so important, I resonate so much on this level at times. A goodnights sleep is worth more than anything.
Another life is life piece, which is always well written by you lady
    Much love
    Michael :)x

Excellent rhyming and rhythem and great subject. It's the most horrible feeling when you can't quieter the mind when you need to sleep. Captured perfectly. Milly x

If I fall asleep now I'll get 5 hours of sleep... if I fall asleep now I'll get 4 hours of sleep...

The mind can be a terribly taxing thing with all those wretched thoughts it brings to the party...especially in the wee hours.

    Take care, Kitty.

To be honest, I wanted to nominate this poem for this week but didn't get the pleasure of doing it. It's good to see it has been nominated.

We see other people around us with glee on their faces, and we assume our life would be like them. I always think, are they really happy?

Except the politicians, almost everyone in this world is looking for peace. Some want peace with their friends, some with their relatives, their sons and daughters, but most of them want peace with their daily life.
Each day is a new challenge, full of puzzled and every day we have to look for the solutions to solve those puzzles so that we could survive.

While finding solutions, we get so involved that even during the sleep these daily chores run through our mind instead of dreams (a place full of wonders) and turn it into a nightmare.
We constantly feel worry about what has happened today and what is going to happen tomorrow and our life becomes a fight of our own past and future.
To seek peace meditation is more important than medication as it brings positive energy and thank God you didn't fall into that trap by far.

Kitty, the best thing about your writing style is that you keep on experimenting instead of the results. You always find new ways to make new admirers of your poems. Honestly, I always read your poems and like them too, but as I once said to you, "comment less, but proper."

This poem is unique in its own way. It shows the struggle of a person who wants to fall into sleep, so she could finally find some peace, but not getting it because of the constant thinking going on her mind about the affairs of the past and the future.
In this constant fight between the past and future which is going on inside her mind, her present is getting affected keeping her away from peace.
Along with the rhyming you take good care of your timing too. Like, which word to put where or which stanza should come first.

Just keep on evolving, keep on exploring, keep on experimenting and keep on surprising us like this forever.

    All the best!

Wow Naaz! Thanks so much for taking the time for such a thorough and flattering comment, I really do appreciate it so much.
I love poetry, in that inspiration never runs out! If real life stuff isn't inspiring, then the imagination kicks in. Unfortunately this one is real life but it's only this bad occasionally now, rather than being the norm, for which I'm very grateful! :-) x

Dear, if I had to flatter you I could have commented on every single poem of yours.
Yes there are two places in the poem where the rhyme scheme is not exact, but anyone would ignore it in comparison to the content of the poem.
So, I was honest about the last section of the comment.
Kitty, not many people (like me) go beyond the limits and those who go find a whole new world of possibilities.
My best wishes to you on that new world of poetry!
