If Only

by Lemon Squeezy   Jan 12, 2018

It seems that there are pills for everything today,
Have a problem, pop a pill, make it go away,
A pill here for deep rooted depressions,
A pill there for overactive, uncontrollable obsessions.

Struggle with sadness, always feeling crappy?
Well here's a pill to make you super happy,
Have anxieties or several social disorders?
It seems for prescriptions, doctors have no borders.

Heartburn, diarrhea, or indigestion?
Go see the Doc, he'll have a suggestion,
Headaches, toothaches back pain and more,
Just take a trip to your local drug store.

If only among the magical medicinal remedy,
Among the plethora of pills, for every extremity,
I could find a pill or a treatment or cure,
To medicate this broken heart for sure.

Doctor, Doctor what do you suggest,
To treat this heartache, now give me your best,
Examine me closely, and don't miss a thing,
Write me a scrip, to weaken the sting.

Ill endure all the side effects with glee,
Over the heartbreak thats happen to me,
If only, the heartbreak could be taken away,
By popping a pill, I'd overdose on it today.
