Casualties Of War:

by Scott Cole   Jan 17, 2018

Those pains that's imprisoned
In our heart of hearts,
Are those same recapultions
That cause tears to depart.

They're one in the same
Those tear jerking heart breaks,
That instant infliction
From numbness of the aches.

Then reality sets in
And actuality takes form,
As blue skies turn grey
And expell their rainstorms.

The eye of the beholder
Is unfettered of it's hold,
As once binding ties
Are permanently paroled.

Wonderfully thoughtful and well rhymed piece of poetry, Scott. Your work always has something to say - a clear message/point - which draws me in and keeps me reading.

Take care and all the best,

    Ben
