A Feather

by Hellon   Jan 19, 2018

Left behind by migration
I could only
swirl and twirl...

---------------

...in my dream-time
light and free
I drift upon the breeze of seasons
embracing each of you
as individuals,
well acquainted with your notions.

SPRING...will entwine me
in nests of anticipation,
my warmth given free.

Whimsical SUMMER finds me
unemployed as chicks
take to their wings, I
become redundant

and yet...

free to continue my voyage,
no matter where it takes me.

AUTUMN...season of trepidation!
for your blustery winds could take me
anywhere...I'm excited

but...

I know WINTER is fast approaching
and
I find time to ponder...

will I be buried under the first snow drifts
or will warmth and comfort find me
pressed between the pages of some forgotten book,
musty pages choking a free spirit.

I am happy and disappointed at the same time. Happy that it got the warmth of HM and disappointed because it got buried under the first three snowdrifts of this week.

    But it's OK!
After all, it's them 'The judges' who go through the season of trepidation every week so that the real talent not get left somewhere in between the musty pages.

Well, let's come back to the world of feathers once again.

Hellon, to be honest, I nominated it the very moment I read it. I didn't comment before because I had no words to describe its beauty. It took me some time to ponder and to put my emotions into words I felt towards it. Actually, I was drifting in the breeze of this poem, but at the same time collecting thoughts. There are few poems which leave us clueless, speechless or we forget everything in awe of their beauty. Well, this is one of those!

Language as delicate as a feather!
    Scenery is beautiful!
I mean there was visual imaginary throughout the poem but it was audio, olfactory and tactile too in certain places.
I only not saw the beautiful journey of a feather swirling and twirling through the different seasons but also heard the blustery winds of the autumn, smelled the mouldy pages of a forgotten book, and embraced every single word of this poem to feel its(feather) fear of choking in between the pages or nervousness of blowing away fiercely with the wind.

It's not easy to get acquainted with a poem like this even in my dreams.

Of course, anything I write or comment would be less or redundant in comparison to what you have written. But as I mentioned earlier these are just my emotions.

Just keep on continuing this journey in the space of poetry like a free spirit.
And once again sorry for the late comment.
