The Pitfalls Of Joy:

by Scott Cole   Jan 19, 2018

Happiness is a possession
Our joyiful ways,
And can only be taken
If we give it away.

For it's a reflection
Of our inner attitude,
The way that we feel
Our overall mood.

But it has a dark side
A upside down smile,
That will hinder your views
And cramp your style.

It's all about willpower
Your self control,
The shape of your feelings
How your emotions unroll.

For your joy is yours
It's your sunshine,
Your rainless parade
Your cloud nine.

So polish your possession
Put it to good use,
Building up your resistance
Against mental abuse.

Scott this is great! A really unique take on the subject. The idea of owning our 'happy' is actually very thought provoking for me and a good reminder that it's mine and I need to protect it from being stolen! Adding to my faves :-) x

I really enjoyed this very much. The rhyming and flow were excellent and I loved the concept of happiness being a possession that you can polish up when you need it. Best wishes Milly x
