Mason Jar

by Maple Tree   Feb 5, 2018

If the world encased me
within a mason jar,
my star shine would dull
for winter still blows.

Echos of imagination
thunder inside my soul,
eager to awaken the needs
of my eternal life.

Whispers attack achy bones
arresting a spiritual yearning,
I grow restless, tired of all the pain
that shatters my tears; in captivity.

Maple, you always manage to capture so much in fewer words.

I read your comment on my poem. If you say it's beautiful, then I believe it really is. Actually, it was a surprise because you comment on very few poems. It's like an honor.

    Thank you
