Ascending at last

by deeplydesturbed   Feb 20, 2018

On a lonely path one must take
Waiting for ones soul to break
Oh how this heart does ache
Maybe it was all one big mistake…

Turns around to see shadows gone
Even that has chosen to abandon
A lonely person walking at dawn
Wondering where it all went wrong

Dropping to their knees in dirt
Wondering how to stop the hurt
Shrinking deep into a sweatshirt
Turning off all self-alert

Now a life must come to end
On an empty dirt road bend
This is the last thing she has penned
Now say goodbye so she can ascend

Naomi loved the rhyme and metre of this and the soulful feeling of desolation. Best wishes .Milly x

A very sad piece with an element of hope at the end. Any piece that finishes with the word 'ascend' surely must have some hope in there somewhere!

    Take care, Naomi
