The Call...

by Tony   Feb 23, 2018

Today- a miracle, a break from norm
A shining beacon through this storm
Her heavenly voice so true to form
Thawed my heart, so strange- I'm warm!

Hammering strongly inside my breast
VISIBLY shaking the walls of my chest
Suddenly unable to draw my breath
My heart stunned by renewed depth

A number I did not recognize
In front of a voice with no disguise
Upon hearing her... widened my eyes!
And left me floating in the skies...

She left no name but it was hers
The voice that stirs my words to verse
The warmth that makes the fog disburse
My angel with her counter-curse

How many nights laying awake
"What ifs" cascading without break
From a feeling I could not forsake
How could my will NOT come to break?!

And then she comes back to me
My words in hand- she set me free
Suddenly I'm back up in that tree!
Praying that she's still watching me...

I find it so hard to get chills when I read other people's poetry. I put myself in their shoes and rarely I feel goosebumps on my arms and legs.. But this.. THIS had that affect on me. This is stunning!!!

Try to Imagine how "I" felt! Here I am, passed out sleeping... wake up at 4am to go to work and I have a missed call from my hometown area code. I call it back and there's no name. Just her voice. I swear to god I recorded and rerecorded the voicemail at least 20 times! I thought my heart was going to explode lol
