Whose hand will stand

by Mpho Leteng   Feb 27, 2018

Lest I not fusty enough to be wise;
But if't be true age does speak of wisdom learned,
I learnt a little too much to know
That there's no good in doing wrong
As much as there's no wrong in good.

And I desire the right hand will stand
When the harvest work is done,
We await the hour, hopefully to a quite quaint land
When the yearnings have ceased and there's no sound of a gun,
Will your right hand stand?

But in the midst of this stormy sea,
I desire the whipping winds doesn't lull you to catch but a wink,
Steer hence from the shoals
Any moment we may sail the sea no more!

This curse we had known;
The conviction came as no surprise,
Though all men are error-prone,
We know that sin has a price!

And you will pay yours in dividends until you atone,
Without choice nor chance for bribes to entice
It's blood and tears and weariness to bone!

But will your right hand stand?
Will you creep towards light?
Where will death find you?
How far from the Lord will you be!?

    This style of writing reminds me a little of another talented fellow who used to be on site but is not with us any more. Anyway, this is a thoughtful and well-worded piece that is formatted neatly.

    Welcome to the site and all the best,
