An Angel's Tale

by Ben Pickard   Feb 28, 2018

In violet haze and on a cloud,
whilst rainbows were my only muse,
I took their route to earthy ground,
and slid down out of heaven's blue.

In green-tinged greeting I was met,
as softest grass diffused my fall,
and so with greatest introspect,
I wondered at this earthly call.

I saw it, then, the trees sad blight,
and how the flowers sadly bent;
I saw how dark replaced the light
and why I was from heaven sent.

An angel
who now comes to you
and sees past all your many wrongs;
who tells you of the sky's pure blue,

and of the angels' purist songs.

    You make writing seem so easy, Ben, especially with your beautiful rhyme. Each poem I read for you I end up with the same comment "This is such musical, flawless rhyme!" Your poetry is flawless and beautifully flowing.
    I also love most of the stories behind your poetry. You're so talented!

    Never stop writing!

    I have read many of your works and enjoyed many. I think this has to be one of my favorites.

    It's very light and yet has very very dark undertones

    Fantastic as always
