What a perfect piece of poetry this is and one that had me gazing into my coffee rather guiltily, I must say...

    Take care,

Love it! One of those great true poems where the reader almost feels like they wrote it

I love this 'thinky' piece! Yes it's a monotonous, robotic rat-race when you break it down, but we all find meaning it it somewhere and for many the 'dream' is to be happy and have a home, and the dreary work bit makes that possible. The real question I guess is what defines 'living' and 'existing' ... it's probably different for everyone.
Well done for the poetic 'kick' :-) x

Oh my goodness, what a wonderful write!

    "Why dream of tomorrow,
    when yesterday is safe?

Why live, when you can simply
    exist?"

I LOVED these lines! I think, however, that I would've opted for "safer" not "safe." though I love it this way all the same.

This is a brilliant piece of writing which tackles something not everyone knows how to discuss or write about.
    Very well done!
