Marriage

Marriage

The word progressive stands for so many things
Like race and religion and furthered well beings
Youth movements attempt to pick up the thought
To further the fight of the people forgot
They rally, stand tall, or kneel at a creed
Twist arms together with their spirit feeling freed
As they chant and shout to impress upon all
The right or the wrongs to which they are called
And while those songs may be very viable chants
There seems to be one that’s worth more than such rants
The sanctimonious word that’s cut way up above
That means the freedom to be w/ anyone that you love

I hear you CJ! Marriage should always be about love, and not about religion or sexuality. I think the world is very slowly getting there, but the 'sanctimonious' ones will always hold on for dear life to what they think is correct. A great poem here!
