I read this poem literally three times and I found new perspectives with each time. Shane, you are a brilliant poet. I hope you remember this.

I'm trying so hard to understand why you wrote the word 'gravity' this way but I think I'm getting there. That's what I really like about your poetry; it always leaves me something to think about for the rest of the day.

Will you teach me how you write so beautifully?

A wonderful and clever tribute Shane to the fantastic Mr Hawkings (I assume?)
Do you ever wonder if perhaps he achieved more BECAUSE of his MN disease than he would have if he'd been able bodied? Could being a prisoner of your own body allow for a greater focus on mental pursuits? :-) x

At last, he defied gravity. I just loved the way you structured this word, gravity. It looks like sir stephen hawking soul is going into heaven by defying the laws of gravity. He was an inspiration to millions of people, especially youngsters, around the globe. I am sad, that's the reason I wrote a poem for him too.

SG, I am becoming a fan of your work and please consider me too if you are going to teach Nee how you write so beautifully.

This poem is all about the journey of my dear Stephen hawking. I could not stop myself from nominating it.

First stanza is all about the time when science was not considered that good or miracles of science considered as evil. That's why title justifies this poem so well because in today's world we all see him as messiah of that bad religion or science.

Second stanza is all about the time when he had everyone but still he felt alone. However, in that loneliness his mind had every freedom to express himself to the outer world. His body was trapped by a disease but not the beliefs. That's why he kept on sharing the secrets of the universe with us till his last breath. Once again, in this stanza loved the beautiful language you used.

Third and fourth stanza gives continuity to the second one. Like after all the sufferings he had been through he was in peace with himself and he kept on publishing or giving so many theories time and time again. I completely agree with you on this that he really was light-years ahead of his weaknesses.

Then comes the last stanza with bit of romantic angle. All his life he gave to see or find black hole in the universe. He had many theories in his mind about the universe like mutiverse etc, but black hole and time was his most favorite. Those flowers in the end looks like a grave, is it really?

SG, once again, you used phenomenal words to portray your emotions towards the brilliant mind of 20th century. There is no such favorite part because I loved the whole poem. I second on what Ben said about the poem. There is so much in the poem to read and observe and to think for the rest of the day as Nee mentioned.

Finally, to end this, I just want to say 'Mission accomplished'.

    All the best!
