When You See Me With Him

by Bleu   Mar 19, 2018

Eventually you will run into me while you are out on the town.
But, next to me will be a man who would never dream of letting me down.
Without introducing yourself, he will know your name.
Just a faded memories, where the only thing I received was pain.

You will see me looking better than you remember ever seeing me before.
You will watch as he takes my hand and helps me out of our car after opening my door.
The pain will hit you, but you will claim it is bitter sweet.
Seeing another man love the woman you decided to leave.

You will force a smile and hope I do not notice the pain in your eyes.
But, I know you, and you know I can see through your every disguise.
Once in a while, you will think back to the past.
Thinking back to the reasons you made damn well sure that we would never last.

Yes, I know, you will be in for quite a surprise.
A hurt that you will not be able to hide.
Because eventually you will see a ring on my hand.
And you will see me unconditionally love another man.

I don't really need to say much here, the writing speaks for itself.

I'm so glad that you can see your future as you deserve it Hales ... he's a fool to have spoiled what could have been! Great poem! :-) x
