Circles

by Walter   Mar 21, 2018

I have given up on trying
There's no use anymore
Whatever you're feeling now
It's not the same as once before

I wonder when it started
What was the turning point?
You could not be more obvious
That our hearts are now disjoint

As you're just keeping silent
Planning for your attack
Though still accepting my love
Just not giving any back

I'm tired of all the fighting
Each time that we debate
You've forced me into the corner
Now hold my heart in checkmate

And where do I go from here
Please tell as I do not know
I only follow you blindly
As your river no longer flows

You will just keep me waiting
As the days turn into weeks
When the only words you'll say
Seem to be in tongue and cheek

So you've made me reach the point
As barren as in the start
You've taken everything back
Just leaving my empty heart

Yes, love has to be a two way street or the one that is left is a dark and lonely place to walk...

Take care and all the best, Walter.

Thanks Ben and you're right...it should be two way or no way. Appreciate your comments.

Ouch Walter! I hate that I can relate to this ... but I really can and that awful feeling of knowing the love is lost is just awful. Fab write! :-) x

Walter, such a sad write. It's so very hard when the other person is no longer invested. Well done with this and hugs-
