Parasites

by Gasttlee   Mar 26, 2018

A virus
that spreads like wildfire
very quickly
with plenty of fuel to burn.

The leader is a rotten force
with a goal to create an army
of blind and devoted bugs.

They then travel in packs
like wolves out to chew you up
and spit you out.

They pass many lobes,
but only hurt you.

It’s silent and loud
and also very deadly.

You try to stop them,
but the damage is done.

You’re seen as a plague
and cast out like a bad rash.

You’re dead inside,
but you can change for the better.

Wash your hands of it all,
for while others are dirty,
you will remain clean.

I'm going to assume that the parasitic virus of which you speak is a metaphor for the 'not so nice' people of the world. Those that are fueled by anger and hate and recruit others to back up their cowardice and sing their twisted song.
    A forceful and wise, well-written poem :-) x

Sorry for the late response and you're assumption is 100% correct. That's exactly what it's about. Glad to see I got that message in clearly, albeit subtly.
