A Transient Love

by Hellon   Apr 2, 2018

In the shelter of my mind
through the window of my eyes
memories come drifting back
to when we said our last goodbye.

The verse I write is left undone
don't know why I spend my time
writing sentences I don't believe
with words that barely rhyme.

I hear the drizzle of the rain
like a memory it falls
seems it's whispering my name
as, once more, your voice it calls.

A mind distracted and confused
my thoughts are many miles away
yet, when I lie awake at night
my dreams once more are left to stray.

And so you see I've come to doubt
all that I once held as true
I've loved and lost or so it seems
a world now empty without you.

On my window raindrops weave
they merge together then drift apart
a transient love not meant to be
yes, I knew that from the start.

I hear the drizzle of the rain
like a memory it falls
seems it's whispering my name
as, once more your voice it calls

seems it's whispering my name
as, once more your voice it calls...

A very well rhymed piece which got me singing along because it felt like a song especially with the repetition
Edit: kind of missed the *my attempt at lyrics * haha

    Wonderful writing, Hellon.

Tears, so many tears, like the showers here in England this April.

Is there a tune for these lyrics? Can I listen to your dulcet tones?

    Take care.
