God's
Obviously
Deaf.

Note: I am a religious person but it's like whatever happening in Syria and our dear friend Andrea's life, including mine. It just making me believe that God does not answer to our prayers.

Marryanne said a lot and Em said few things too about the existence of God. I am a science student and for me existence of God is like 50 - 50 percent. I mean right now there is no such theory to proof that he exists or not.

At one hand, there are 2200 people who own more than 60 percent wealth of the whole earth they are so rich. On the other hand, the rest of the population.

Situation is much worse in developing or poor countries. At one end of this world, people don't have fruits to eat and someone on the other side of the planet uses it on their shampoos, creams, etc..

What I like about this poem is that you didn't say God not exists or he is dead. You didn't hurt the feelings of those who believe in him. You said he is deaf and you gave the reason too why he is along with the note.

As marryanne, Em and Brenda already said these are the few things which clearly says if God is omnipresent why it let happen all these wicked things. A corrupt politician lives a healthy life and innocent children die in air strikes.

Sometimes, I question to those who has their own philosophy regarding God. They always say one thing 'trust god' or 'his plans are the best'. What's good if innocent children lose their lives?
Or a mother tired of praying but still God has more suffering in his pockets for her daughter.

I don't know he exists or not but one thing is clear, he is obviously deaf.

This is irony. If God is like this, I don't want to meet him ever. If he can't control one person who gives the order for such strikes, then he is no omnipresent.

      Well said naz!
I'm a religious person but these days I've mixed feelings for God.

This is short and extremely powerful.
Title: God... Anyone can be a God right if we say, do and act in a certain way we can be seen as a God for people could worship the ground we walk on.. Please correct me if I'm wrong though anyway long and short of it is I'm not really a believer because I've been through some rubbish in my 29 years of life so have questioned whether there is a God but quite recently I've began praying again for those who simply need prayers and for now it's working so I guess what I'm trying to say is my faith is a little restored but then I look to other things happening around the world and think how the heck could any God act in this way, hurt people the way they get hurt and ruin his own creation??
Content: In 6 words you have portrayed a simple yet powerful and saddening truth about God and how we (even the most christian/Catholic of us) can question our faith because of things that happen around us weather near or far. I personally believe though that the government only air or publish the news they want to so that rifts are cast between each one us us weather Muslim/British, poor/rich, black/white or male/female why I'm not so sure but I gave up listening to the news years ago and I'm still in my prime. My initial question I had here was why is God deaf? Then I thought of all the cries he doesn't answer, all the gunshots/bombings happening on his creation which he seemingly doesn't hear unfortunately but hey even though he's a God he was obviously 'human' at one point too.. Maybe I'll be shot down for my comment but hey I can only do my best.
    Take care

Shane, it's so hard to believe there is a God when so many horrible things happen to so many innocent people. I question it myself...I wish I had answers for you. The only thing I can offer is a hug and strength to get through these, dark days.

This is powerful, and even those who are faithful or religious feel that anger, that hopelessness... because how can we intervene in a way that will make a difference?

At first, when I saw the list of new poems and the preview showed the first two lines, I thought the third line would be "dead". I expected that. But with "deaf", you have an even tougher situation because you wonder if God is omnipotent, where is his saving hand?

This was heartbreaking yet necessary to think about perhaps. I don't think it's sacrilegious at all, as I think that's one of the hardest things about having faith. In times of darkness, war and bloodshed, disease, despair... it's overwhelming. I know the purpose is not to have everything perfect, but to coexist. It's hard though. What can be even more disheartening is when people say that there is beauty in suffering, almost excusing the suffering that we could have stopped.

There's just so much to it, especially if we're not directly affected, just witnesses or observers crying out for our dear friends....

The reason I mentioned him as deaf is that if can't listen to the sounds of bombs dropping on Syria, the screaming of innocent people dying there everyday and the prayers of a mother(andrea) he is obviously deaf.
Holy scriptures says God has control over everything. I think what they showed in supernatural was true. Chuck (God) he is on vacation with his family to some alternate universe.
