Night's Whisper

by Shinobi   Apr 7, 2018

In the chill of night, a single rose in bloom
Magnificent red petals shrouded by gloom
Thorns at it's stem, alerting of danger
Not to be picked by the hands of a stranger

Night's whisper accompany it's bliss
Wind rushes through in a gentle hiss
This rose ever withstanding time
Blooming majestically, red, sublime

Days go by, and the flower is picked
A Night's whisper failed to precdict
Blood, crimson red, flowing down the stem
The flower, cradled, like a precious gem

Caressing its' warmth to his heart
Finding emotions he could never depart
Embodying such beauty and grace
Calm and precious in his embrace

While no longer shrouded by gloom
Much like an infant in a mothers' womb
Love and warmth now surround those petals
Thousands of flickers rise as the fire cackles

Promises of a future echo in her ear
The girl who grew in the whispers of night
With hesitation, hope, and fear
She clings to life in the warmth of the light
