Dear Friend, Chapter 1: Untitled

by Kryptonite Dreamer   Apr 9, 2018

Dear Friend,
Well it’s been a while,
A broken soul writing to a free one,
I can’t believe I let you slip away,
Hearing all the machines shutting down,
Telling me that you’re gone,
But as I stand here next to your tombstone,
I just want you to know,
I love you brother,
And I’ll always miss you,
Just to bring you back for one day will make me happy,
But I can’t,
So I’ll see you again next year,
Same time,
Same place,
Rest easy pal,
I love you

    This is touching.

At first l thought this a prison visit, but then with the tombstone reference, it became clear. I guess prison can be a little a like death, a person taken away for life.

Your annual visits, presumably on his birthday must be very special. I too have visited lost loved ones, spent time at their grave. It is at times like these that we feel close to them. We almost feel that they can hear us and see us. Perhaps they can? So we talk to them, tell them truths. Here your truth is written.

    Thank you for sharing.
