Tendrils of Darkness

by Tony   Apr 12, 2018

This sinking feeling pulls me under
Tendrils of Darkness from Down Below
They snake their way around my heart
And drag me to where none should go

Sucked deep into the sod and soil
Burried alive! No breath and blind
Desperately clawing at the earth
As tendrils twist into my mind

Dragged through caverns so unhallowed
Unfathomly deep, so dark and dank
By must filled tunnels I've been swallowed
Mildew, mold, and rotten rank

There is no light of which to speak
Only darkness fills this place
No hope exists to lend me voice
Only entropy's cold embrace

The horrors that assault my senses
Cannot be explained by words
I can smell the tattered remnants
Of my sanity as it burns...

Did I dictate my nightmare to you? Sounds a lot like being buried alive might feel and you've captured that so well! :-) x

Yep, this certainly is a dark one, Tony. Great imagery throughout though and your rhyming is always good.
Just a quick pointer to line 4 - 'none'.

Take care and all the best as ever,

    Ben
