Heart's Carbuncle (etheree)

by Ben Pickard   Apr 14, 2018

that you
never saw
the carbuncle
that eclipsed my heart,
suffocating the sound
of the rhythmic beats that struck
a cacophony of noise 'til
the thud was smothered by this disease;
I am love's poor fool - a castle's ruin.

    Oh carbuncle! Don't ask why but I love this word (I wouldn't actually want one though!) The context you've used it in, and the flawless form too make this a fab poem Ben! :-) x
