Escaping

by Walter   Apr 16, 2018

The city life is hectic and the noises never cease
I long for nature’s quietness, its tranquility and peace
My journey starts from here this place I call my home
As I pack my life in a suitcase just bare needs for me to roam

I drive into the distance and only driven by desire
Following just my instincts as this feeling takes me higher
I know when I find it the pure white sands and the beach
This place that I was searching felt almost out of reach

The breeze it feels so fresh and you breathe what nature exhales
Comparing it to the city with the air that feels so stale
And the only noise you hear are the ones from natures call
The birds sing like an orchestra as they perform in the outdoors

Time seems to have frozen as I make the sand my seat
The rhythmic waves approaching as they gently splash my feet
It's never felt so peaceful watching the sun set on the coast
This scene so lost but destined to what I needed most

Walter, I can honestly say this poem speaks to me. I love getting away from it all - camping, walking etc - when things get too much. The problem is, I never want to come back...

Take care and all the best.

Thank you Ben and I have to agree, getting away is great but coming back to reality is hard...
