Five Years

It’s been five years
Five years that have been full of tears
And yet, we still cannot be together

We fake smiles and still act like everything’s okay
Just so we can both stay
But we are almost at our breaking point

We look up to the sky and count the stars
Hoping to fix our broken hearts
Praying that we could hit a button and restart

There are constant rumors floating around
But yet nobody will make a sound
Somehow there’s even a baby around

A break is what we need
I can finally be me
Wait..why is he going with her

I feel like I just continue to lose a part of me
It’s still hard to believe what I’ve seen
To this day I cannot believe he chose her over me

It’s impossible to forget you
I will always miss your “I love you’s”
But how can I ever forget that you chose her over me
