Feel, felt

by Beautiful Tragedy   May 4, 2018

When I miss you;
I go back and reread all of the old poems I’ve written for you and-
Like a diary they take me back
to each and every memory as if they were happening right
now in this moment.
From late night walks by the water to the struggles I’ve faced and the comfort you’ve given me,
I cling onto every word and allow myself to relive those moments over again because at those times-
No matter what was happening I always felt happiest with you.
My writing has always had a way of making me re-feel every emotion I put into each piece and;
On days that I struggle to stay strong while you’re gone that is a vital reminder for me because no matter what happens to you and I-
I don’t ever want to forget what it feels like to love you.

    Oh I connect with this so well, going back to those memories of old love, passion and pain right through flipping pages from my poetry book, it does take me back years in time.
    I loved this, you have pursued your emotions beautifully and splendidly.
    Keep writing.

    A lovely sentiment. Personally, I rarely read over old poems for the same reason: they make me remember. Unfortunately, where yours are about a love you like to remember, mine are all fairly miserable and only add to my glumdum! 'glumdum' - I believe I have just created a new word!

    Take care

      Lmao glumdum. I love it. And I do feel that Ben, my poems were full of pain at one time and I almost never go back and read those because that’s not something I want to relive.
      For the love poems though;
      It’s kind of a blessing....Just like him.
