Depression

by Some Random Human   May 9, 2018

This depression keeps on making love,
deep inside my brain,
that means it's multiplying,
as I've slowly gone insane,
and I can't stand to be,
the person I became,
it just keeps getting worse you see,
I cannot take this pain,
so if you catch me crying,
please do not complain,
'cause inside I am dying,
yes, because of you I'm slain,
I'm hoping, but not coping,
'cause you will not refrain,
whether joking me or choking me,
you're so full of disdain,
I tried to keep it hidden,
but I just can't contain,
these emotions or the notion,
that you just won't explain,
why you're killing me, not healing me,
and I just can't maintain,
the status quo so let me know,
what you hope to attain,
I've been lost to the cost,
of your heartbreak campaign,
no escaping or erasing,
you're like a hurricane,
I realize, can't euthanize,
because you're not humane,
destruction and corruption,
are all that can pertain,
when describing you, arrives the truth,
my plight was all in vain,
this darkness from your heartlessness,
is all that does remain,
still depression keeps on making love,
deep inside my brain,
that means it's multiplying,
as I've slowly gone insane,
and I can't stand to be,
the person I became,
it just keeps getting worse you see,
I cannot take this pain,
so if you catch me crying,
please do not complain,
'cause inside I am dying,
yes, because of you I'm slain...

The anguish, inevitable reality of this depression returning and your raw emotions/pleas are so strong here. I really liked the repetition of asking this person not complain, because your hurt is real and pain is deep.

this certainly is a twisty tale of depression. You kept me reading with intrigue all the way to the end. the fight against it is certainly not an easy one.

    all the best

Clever use of repeating verses/rhyme to show the course of insanity, leading to eventual demise.
