Always Like Something

I always feel like I'm something in between
Amidst the anger or joy but ever incomplete
I'm exhausted feeling and thinking so many
It hurts my thoughts to weigh so plenty

I always feel like I'm something almost tangible
Physically visible but not really actual
Like my happiness is almost touchable
But the emotion doesn't seem functional

I always feel like I'm something evanescent
Always suffering from this fleeting incessant
Feeling one way or another in fades
Smothered from sentimental shades

I always feel like I'm something unfinished
That this hurt and pain is never diminished
For my bliss and love seems always partial
Somber and broken lurking careful

I always feel like something never-ending
Like the constant switch of feelings is unending
That I'm condemned to this neverendless
Forevermore killing me senseless

    Love this poem Brise - great to read some more of your work. I can relate to you so much. Being at the mercy of ever changing emotions is exhausting and confusing but can make for great poetry like this! xx

    I like the clever word-play. I realise the poem is expressing a wavering emotional journey, but I could feel darkness in the despair of, just wanting more.
