Mother's Day

by Alex Penuelas   May 14, 2018

I am envious of your foundations.

I wish I was as strong as you.

But little by little,
Stone by stone,
I am becoming aware
That one day
you will be the one
That will
rely on me.

And I'll be ready by then, mother.

I love you,
And I always will.

I love this tribute and reverence to your Mother, the recognition that for all she has done for you that whilst not quite ready yet you are sure that you will gain the strength to be there for her when she eventually needs you. Its nice in this world of selfishness to see such foresight and kindness and reassurance to one who has given up so much in her role as Mother. A heart touching piece. Milly x
