Port life (reverse nonet)

by Mr. Darcy   May 31, 2018

Fog -

horns hum,

In their tongue:

"Where you from. . . hun?"

"Me?" "Oh. . . from Finland"

A huge freighter glides in. . .

In deepest trombone, he sings:

"Greetings, to all thee, ships and boats"

"Fog gives us a chance to talk 'n' float."

.

Authors note: I live by a port. It has been foggy and so, we all listen to them speak in tongues. lol

Nonet
A nonet is a nine line poem. The first line containing nine syllables, the next line has eight syllables, the next line has seven syllables. That continues until the last line (the ninth line) which has one syllable. Nonets can be written about any subject. Rhyming is optional.

I love the personification of the ships here, Michael. As for 'reverse nonnet' - well, I've told you what I think about making forms up...

    Take care
