Sudden Loss

by Kyleene Mitchell   Jun 1, 2018

Broken hearts fall from a liquid sky
With rain trickling down,
Washing the blood stains from the cold and unforgiving concrete
Agonized cries fill the heads of anyone near enough to hear
As the final moments of a thought to those who care
Dripping wounds scorched open from the sudden loss
Memories scatter in the wind,
While the last remnants of life drift and disperse
Those departed are never forgotten
And the hurt left behind eventually will fade
Bright flowers replace the sorrowful rain
The broken hearts and wounds shall heal
