To His Kids

by Bleu   Jun 4, 2018

I know you may not understand
So I'd like to help you to
I want to show you all the love
I have for each of you.

I can only imagine how difficult this may be.
But, I want to try to explain what each of you mean to me.

There once was a time
that I never wanted kids of my own.
I never dated anyone with kids
because I felt as though they would never feel at home.

In a few short months, you have welcomed yourselves into my heart.
In such a short time, we have began a brand new start.

Her eyes are bright and wonderful, innocence filling her gentle soul.
As time has passed, I have felt my fondness grow.
Her smile brightens the room, so generous, wait and see.
She will change the world, you better believe.

He has a laugh so infectious, it can make anyone's day better.
And he has a heart of gold, calming as the night, gentle as a feather.

I know I may not be your mom,
But I'd like the time to spend,
To show you just how much I'd like
To start out as your friend...
