destination: Love (English sonnet)

by Mr. Darcy   Jun 27, 2018

By night's moonlight I see your beauty so,
A treasured sight like many setting suns.
My eyes beheld with zest an English rose.
How could I know my life had just begun?
:: The day we met the swifts sang in the sky,
:: And ev'ry cloud did morph into a heart.
:: Each day did amble like a man of wise,
:: Knowing that time would end as well as start.
My start inhaled when first I saw your face,
That morning 'neath the apple canopy.
At once I knew your life was mine to praise,
So ev'ry day my heart now leaps so free.
:: True love doth blow these sails a mighty force.
:: By sun and moon my heart remains on course.

I've no idea how I missed this one when it was posted Mr D but it's bloomin' fab!
.... and this line "And ev'ry cloud did morph into a heart." is just genius. So descriptive and swoony! A perfect sonnet :-) x
