Mystery

Mystery

The great unknown
is all around us
yet we walk around
all knowing
totally right
totally entrenched
in our meaning making

We are locked
in our positions
our knowingness
our absolute
black and white
beliefs that shape
our days and carve us
into the smallest version
of our expansive selves
we move in a groove
of repetitive habits
thinking on tracks
never deviating
from the notions
stopping at the
same stations
picking up the
same thoughts
on a daily grind

And still the mystery
is there lurking
in the background
aching to be discovered
where did you really come from,
soul, that chose this body
in this time
to sit in this classroom of life

Where will you go to when
all your lessons are complete
will you return to a home
long forgotten but
instantly remembered
or will you become
something new
and forget the
feelings and experiences
of this space
morph into the petal
on a flower
carbon flung
from an unknown star
dandelion blowing in the wind

This reminded me of a famous quote - true intelligence means understanding how ignorant we are. Something like that, anyway.

    All the best
