Leaves of Change

by Maple Tree   Jul 17, 2018

Morning dawn captures
the pure elegance of maple sap
dripping slowly upon bark-

such as glistening sweat
going down my spine;

edged by design
porcelain skin protects
my inner core
such as the circles of a tree
that I rest my weary skeletal frame

years of torture
serge within veins
of corkscrew root
and my bones
are tangled

one day I shall unite
becoming one within the leaves
of change, and there -

resting upon a hill

I will find peace.

As I believe in present, I just want to say I loved this new pnq profile pic of yours.

Leaving years of torture behind and welcoming the journey towards the shores of life once again.

A beautiful write yet so sad. Porcelain skin indicates being fragile, it easily can be broken. The circles of a tree. leaves are changing colors or falling due to the season. The veins are tangled due to agony you have endured. At the end it is amazing how comforting a tree can be it gives us inner peace. When I have my moments I will take a walk in the forest. Hugs to you Andrea
